San Gabriel Valley Harley Owners Group
Welcome to the San Gabriel Valley Chapter, Harley Owners Group (SGVHOG). When you bought your Harley Davidson, you did more than just purchase a motorcycle. You bought into a lifestyle like no other. Membership in a Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) is a great way to experience this lifestyle with other like-minded folks.
Thanks to our sponsoring dealership, Laidlaw's H-D in Baldwin Park, SGVHOG has been in existence since 1990. Chapter membership over the past few years has varied between 200-300 individuals. The member roster has always been diverse in terms of age, occupation, etc. but it is a group of people sharing the same interests -- the freedom of the road and the joy of riding on two wheels.
Our motto is "Ride Safe and Have Fun." As a group, we strive to create riding opportunities that are safe and enjoyable to all of our Chapter members. As part of the welcome packet, you will find SGVHOG Riding Guidelines. By becoming familiar with and following these Guidelines, our goal is to minimize the risk involved with motorcycle riding during our rides and events.
We recognize that motorcycle riding is a learned skill that must be practiced in order to be done well. As a member of our Chapter, you will have ample opportunity to practice and improve your riding skills.
Monthly Chapter Rides and Overnight Events:
The Chapter organizes monthly rides to a variety of great destinations. Monthly Chapter rides alternate Saturday and Sunday from month-to-month and are arranged to provide enough variety to suit those new to riding as well as veteran riders. In addition to the monthly Chapter rides, our members organize several overnight events over the course of the year.
Charity Rides and Events:
Our Chapter supports a limited number of local San Gabriel Valley charities and civic events through special rides. Supported charities vary somewhat but have included Maryvale Orphanage in Rosemead, David & Margaret Home in LaVerne, City of Hope National Cancer Medical Center in Duarte, and City of Covina Christmas Parade.
Impromptu breakfast rides occur every Sunday. At 8:00am on any given Sunday, many members meet at the "Donut Shop" parking lot west of the Mobil station on the corner of Huntington Drive and Mount Olive Drive in Duarte. Most of our Chapter rides begin at the same location. The Sunday breakfast ride is a great way to meet new members and practice your group riding skills before participating in a Chapter ride or event.
To find out what SGVHOG has scheduled, come to the Chapter meeting on the second Wednesday of the month at the Elk's Lodge - 2436 E. Huntington Drive, Duarte CA., 91010
